 A few years ago I didn't know Jesus or God. I had heard of Jesus, but like most people I didn't investigate Him for myself, discovering Him was not on my list of things to do.
I guess I liked the way my life was going. If I was in some life threatening situation or similar, then that would be different, then I would
have sought God for His help, otherwise why bother? And I thought evolution might be true, not that I investigated that either.
But then something happened, I was put in a dilemma.
Dilemma
My employer hired an'Electronics Design Engineer', a 26 year old lad named Paul, as time went by and I got to know Paul, I discovered he was extremely intelligent and very talented.
Some time later, the guys at work mentioned Paul was a Christian.
The dilemma I was faced with was...
- Paul was an extremely intelligent guy who believed in Jesus
- As a strict bible believing Christian, he wouldn't tell lies
- He told me he was in a relationship with God and knew Him
- And that he spoke with God and God spoke with him
I was perplexed, because I thought only fools believed in Jesus, yet he was one of the most intelligent guys I've ever met. And he told me he knew God, and that he was in a relationship with Him, yet Paul didn't tell lies!
So I concluded, if he wasn't telling lies and wasn't a fool, he must be deceived.
Seeking the Truth
Well Paul had his work cut out with me, I gave him a hard time. I was interested in knowing about his faith, but I also felt it was my duty to prove to him, he was deceived. So I asked him questions, upon questions, often rudely asking more, while he was still answering the first. And patiently, he kept answering me the best he could.
Many days later, I began to get fed up with him, as he always had a good answer to my questions. I mean here I am, trying to help him realise he's deceived, yet every argument I put forward fell apart.
It soon became apparent to me, that he might not be deceived and that I could be!
Then one day Paul said to me "why don't you ask God Himself, if He exists?"
Well that was it - my life completely changed when I did....
I sought God & asked Him if He existed?
He replied!
"If you seek him, he will be found by you;" (1 Chronicles 28:9)
"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD..." (Jeremiah 29:13-14)
Discovering God
God revealed Himself to me!! (I'm serious), I was completely amazed, awe-struck, dumb founded and overwhelmed with happiness (all at the same time). Initially I couldn't stop smiling, I was on a high, I was happy! But soon after I went into extreme SHOCK.
Awakened
I remained in total shock for the rest of the week. I walked around like a zombie, completely out of it. This was SERIOUS, very serious. I knew then I had to make changes and quickly. I had to stop sinning and I needed urgent help and advice.
Afterwards
Back at work, I told Paul I'd asked God if He existed and that God had replied. Paul wasn't at all surprised, just pleased I'd asked! He suggested I got together with him and another Christian for prayer. A few days later I met up with them and after they had talked with me, they prayed for me and witnessed me becoming a (born again) Christian.
 During the next few weeks I went to see a pastor. I spent one night a week, for 12 weeks, on an "Alpha Course". I gave the pastor a hard time too, I was angry I didn't no about this sooner, why do so many people ignore Jesus?
JESUS is the Truth
Well that's about it. I discovered that although Jesus and the bible and all that seemed like one big fairy story, it was actually the opposite, it was true.
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
 So later I joined a church, got baptised in the sea, went on a 26 week discipleship course and attended several conferences. And today I spend most of my free time, studying Gods word (the bible).
If you're an unbeliever and not sure about all this (I wouldn't blame you), or think I'm nuts, well I'm not! - I'm telling the truth.
PLEASE don't waste any more time like I did. The sooner you investigate Jesus for yourself, the better. Discovering God is much easier than you realise, seek Him and you will discover Him too. All you've got to do, is take some time to look for Him
"The one who has an ear had better hear ...... To the one who conquers, I will permit him to eat from the tree of life that is in the paradise of God." (Rev 2:7)
My Life Now
My life has really changed since discovering God. He has increased my intelligence and given me wisdom, he has changed me into a caring individual, who tries his best to do the right thing. I've also discovered that God is really wonderful (loving, caring, interested in the details of my life), He is nothing like I thought He was, He is awesome.
Now I understand life, I understand who I am and why I'm on earth, everything is clear. My life has meaning and fulfilment.
