The Presence of God

Before I became a follower of Jesus (a Christian), I didn't know Gods presence. But I do now...

Experiencing Gods Presence
I remember one of my first experiences of Gods presence:

I was singing along with the rest of the Church, but I was also thinking about 100 other things as well, my head was full of thoughts. I was busy thinking and worrying about everything. Then all of a sudden, I felt extremely calm, at peace and completely worry free. It was as if I had been picked up and dipped into a pool of peace. Then lifted out and put down again. I was completely saturated, dripping wet with peace (it's the only way I can describe it).

It was as if God had said.. "You don't need to worry about anything, I'll take care of it. Now be quiet".

I stopped singing, I knew that God did not require me to sing. He just wanted me to be quiet and rest in His presence. An amazing experience.

(John 14:27 GNB) "Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid".

Gods Presence Unmistakable
You'll know when you experience Gods presence, as deep calm and peace will be with you. When I experience Gods presence, It's as though I am completely alone, all the hustle and bustle of life is gone. I feel tremendous peace, I know God is with me.

(Rom 15:33) "Now may the God of peace be with you all. Amen."

Although you can't see God (He's invisible), you'll know you're not alone.

(1Timothy 1:17 NET) "Now to the eternal king, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory forever and ever! Amen".

How to Experience Gods Presence
Gods Presence will come when God comes! So you will need to Seek God. You will also need to be completely honest and transparent about things. No point hiding anything from God, He knows Everything. (As I've found out!). Also you need to confess you're sins and be willing to turn from ALL sin (repentance).
