Knowing God
God created us to be in a relationship with Him. This relationship
is broken because of our sin. We are invited by God, to re-enter
into this relationship with Him.
Entering into this relationship is by choice, if we choose
to be in this relationship, we will experience Gods love, peace
and presence in our lives. If we decide not to be in this relationship,
then when we die, we will be separated from Him forever (and go
to Hell).
God Provides the Means, to Restore this Relationship
The Bible ,
teaches us...
(Romans 5:1)
"We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
(John 3:16)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting
life."
(John 10:10)
"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it
more abundantly."
Why are most people not aware of Gods presence?

Because man is separated from God
We don't have Gods peace, love and presence, because we are separated
from Him.
Why are We Separated?
We are separated, because we have sinned (just one sin is enough
to separate us)
The Bible teaches...
(Isaiah 59:2)
"But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins
have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear."
(Romans 3:23)
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
What will Happen to Us,
if we Stay Separated?
The separation leads to death and certain judgement.
(Hebrews 9:27)
"Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement."
(2 Thessalonians 1:8-9)
"Those who do not know God... will be punished with everlasting
destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord."
What is the Solution?
There is only one way to overcome our separation...
Jesus IS the Way

The Bible teaches...
(1 Timothy 2:5)
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the
man Jesus Christ."
(1 Peter 3:18)
"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous,
to bring you to God."
(Romans 5:8)
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were
still sinners, Christ died for us."
Can any person know God?
Yes knowing God is possible for all people, but only through Jesus
Only Jesus can bring us to God

The Bible teaches...
(John 14:6)
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through me."
(John 1:12)
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God."
(Romans 10:9)
"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe
in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
(Revelation 3:20)
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and
eat with him, and he with me."
Jesus knocks at our door, but it's
up to us to let Him in
Each Person Must CHOOSE to Receive Him
How can a Person receive Jesus help, to know
God?
If you sincerely ask Jesus to come into your life and help
you, He will.
(John 14:14)
Jesus said, "You may ask Me for anything in my name, and I
will do it."
We ask Jesus to help us through prayer...
How
and what to Pray
Go to a quiet place where you will be alone,
kneel (if you can) and pray to Jesus from your heart, ask Him to
forgive you your sins and ask Him to come into your life. The following
prayer may help you know what to say..
Dear Jesus,
Lord, I have sinned against you, against God, please
forgive me (confess
anything in particular you need forgiveness of). Please come
into my life and restore this broken relationship. I would like
to know your presence, peace and love for me. Jesus I am sorry,
really sorry.
Thank you Jesus, Amen
If you Sincerely prayed this prayer
or similar from your Heart, then knowing
God is now a reality for you. Jesus has brought you to God and God
has forgiven your sins and given you eternal life
(Romans
10:13)
"Everyone who calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved."
(1 John 5:11-12)
"God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God
does not have life."
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.... and this
not from yourselves, it is the gift of God... not by works, so that
no one can boast."
When we ask Jesus into our life AND we believe
in Him AND intend to sincerely turn from sin, we are born into God's
family.
We are born again (spiritually)
This is just the Beginning of a Wonderful New
Life.
"Knowing God" is all about having a relationship with
Him, a two way relationship. The more we draw closer to Him, the
more He draws closer to us. To deepen this relationship you should...
- Get a Bible
and read it every day
- Talk to God in
prayer, every day.
- Find a good church where you can worship God and meet with Him
