Freedom in Christ - Part 10
I Command You to STOP!

Don't let the devil push you around, we have power and authority over Satan.

Luke 9:1-2
After Jesus called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Jesus gave the disciples 'The Right and Ability'

Me and Christ are in the majority.

Think of David and Goliath. David new he could beat Goliath, because he knew he had God.

We have an advantage over the original disciples. They were with Christ - But Christ is in us.

Chain of Authority and Power

Satan's power is in the 'Lie'.

We see ourselves as:

'Me' fluctuating between the two.

Spiritual Authority is not Horizontal but Vertical.
A vertical Chain of Command.

Matthew 28:18
Then Jesus came up and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Luke 10:19
Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you.

Satan has NO Right to Rule our Lives.

Colossians 2:15
Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Ephesians 1:3-13
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ. For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished in his sight in love. He did this by predestining us to adoption as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will- to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight. He did this when he revealed to us the secret of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, toward the administration of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ-the things in heaven and the things on earth. In Christ we too have been claimed as God's own possession, since we were predestined according to the one purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, would be to the praise of his glory. And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation)-when you believed in Christ-you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit

In Ephesians 1:3-13 Paul mentions 10 times our position - He does not want us to miss it.

The same power that raised God from the dead, is in us!

The apostle Paul wants us to know this.

Ephesians 2:4-6
But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ-by grace you are saved!- and he raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

We are seated right now in the heavenlies. That means we have the authority over Satan.

Collosians 2:15
Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Satan wants us to think he's like a roaring lion. But in reality his teeth and claws have been removed.

There are 4 Steps to Demonstrate Christ's Authority and Power over Satan and demons.

BELIEF, HUMILITY, BOLDNESS, DEPENDENCE

We must build our faith and put our confidence in Christ.

Our responsibility is to submit to God and resist the devil.

Proverbs 28:1
The wicked person flees when there is no one pursuing,
but the righteous person is as confident as a lion.
We must ask God for boldness

2 Timothy 1:7
For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.

We must be careful that we don't step outside the authority of God.

We mustn't chase around looking for demons or spirits. We mustn't take too much interest in Satan.

God has called us to focus on His kingdom - Praying, Teaching, Loving etc.

If the demons pursue us - Then we take the authority and power.

Our focus must be on Christ 100%

•  TAKE EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE
•  SATAN WILL TWIST SCRIPTURE
•  WE MUST SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER.
