Why absolute truth is so important!
Is there such a thing as absolute truth? Are morals relative and where would you draw the line? If you don't believe in absolute truth how can you be absolutely sure of what you don't believe in or anything for that matter?
I am absolutely certain that God (Yahweh) is light and in Him is no darkness at all. So many other beliefs contain a dualistic nature of God, including ying and yang, light and dark and a good and bad side. The deity they confess to worship is ambivalent, inconsistent and unknowable and provides the follower with no certainty of where they will go to in the next life!
The initial problem with the beliefs held above is that if you do not believe there is such a thing as absolute truth then by what authority can you condemn another persons actions regardless of how immoral, depraved or repulsive they may be?
So why is absolute truth not too popular, generally speaking in contemporary society? Absolute truth demands accountability for your actions and for what you say. The next issue is that absolute truth according to the Bible will invariably contradict what many people think is acceptable and not acceptable. The bottom line is that we need rules for our own protection. If all rules were banished in the house of Commons tommorow we would reach a state of anarchy. Everyone would operate by their own rules and the world would be in a greater mess than it currently is.
Okay, so if you ignore that there is absolute truth your belief system will be inconsistent. The greater issue though is that even if you do agree that there is such a thing as absolute truth you will still mess things up. That is because contrary to popular opinion mankind is basically bad not good and because of the fall in the garden of Eden we are all born into sin and cannot help sinning!
Those who are sick need a doctor. There are no exceptions, without Jesus in our lives we are all sick and need the doctor. Jesus the Messiah, the only begotten Son of the Father dies for our sins as there is absolutely no way we could live a perfect sinless life. He is the divine physician, and paid the sacrifice for us as the Lamb of God who came to take away the sin of the whole world!
