The problem with higher critics and cut and paste Theology!
I believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, that it is God breathed and it is the revealed word of God. You would hope that all believers would profess the above yet sadly today that is certainly not the case. As I am writing this there are councils that meet to decide what portions of Scripture meet their approval and which parts need to be axed.

Why England's churches can't afford to remain neutral to Israel!
England has an incredible heritage of prominent Bible and Spirit led leaders that have impacted the world and changed the course of History. I'm talking about Wycliffe, John and Charles Wesley, Cromwell and Spurgeon. All of these great great men had a Biblical revelation of God's purposes and covenant promises for Israel and took great issue with the same.

Names of God -Â Elohim and Yahweh
At times in Scripture God reveals His names and titles that describe His attributes and character. For example when a lamb was provided instead of Isaac being sacrificed He revealed Himself as Yahweh Yireh - The LORD who provides! The name YHWH or Yahweh is His name in Hebrew and it means...

Micah 5:2 - The coming Messiah
Matthew Henry referred to this verse as the most significant prophecy in the Old Testament and for good reason. Genesis 3:15 the prototype of the Gospel explains that the Redeemer shall crush the head of the serpent. Micah 5:2 narrows it down as to what tribe the Messiah would come from and where He would be born!

A POEM ON GOD'S PROVIDENCE IRRESPECTIVE OF THE SITUATION!
You meant it for evil but God meant it for good, was what Joseph's brothers only now understood. Envy, dissension, bitterness and hate, guided by providence, not the cruel hand of fate. From slavery, imprisonment, he sat sat by Pharaoh's side,

Roots, Branches, Trees and Fruit in the Bible and their Relevance
When I was twenty two I went with five friends to see the largest living things on the planet. No they weren't the 100ft, 150 tonne blue whales although that's on my list of things to see also! The record for it's height is 112 metres and the record weight is 1488 tonnes which is the equivalent of 248 elephants.

A warning on the dangers of the ecumenical movement!
In 1986 Pope John Paul II invited those from various faiths to offer prayers and worship together inside the Vatican including those from Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim backgrounds and even snake worshippers. Just exactly what is going on?

How to be an effective Christian witness to Jehovah's witnesses!
We have probably all experienced it! Two smartly dressed strangers appear at your doorstep enquiring about your opinion concerning the state of the world and you are not sure whether to run or hide! Are you going to ignore them, pretend to be half interested or take a leaf out of Peter's letter and always be ready to give a reason for the hope within you?

Biblical prophecy and proof I hear you cry!
The Bible is stuffed with proof that Jesus is the Son of God and that its content is accurate. The apostle Paul used to regularly expound scriptures to prove that Jesus is the Son of God particularly in the book of Acts. Luke writes that Jesus 'also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God (Acts 1:3).

Biblical Creation or the myth of Theistic evolution?
I attended a lecture at Southampton University earlier this summer with my brother and four of my mates. The speaker held the view that the opening chapter of Genesis was not a literal account but should be understood as a true myth with allegorical undertones.
The above view is completely unbiblical and whilst I am the first to admit that science is by no means my strongest subject I am more than willing to defend the literal account from a brief exposition of scripture interpreted in its correct context.

Why pray for Israel? Has the church replaced Israel?
At Waters Edge Elim Church we make an effort to bless, support and devote prayer meetings specifically to the nation of Israel and the Jewish people. But why all the fuss over Israel which currently occupies approximately the same area of land as Wales?

The Lion or the Lamb? Jesus the Messiah - Pacifist or Warlord?
The Lion or the Lamb?
Is your opinion of Jesus too westernised or simply too nice? Little Jesus meek and mild who needs our assistance? God forbid! There is often a tendency to examine Jesus attributes and character from isolated passages in scripture or just the nice bits that make us feel good about ourselves!
Well which one is it? Is Jesus the Lion or the Lamb, or is He both and if so how can that be?

Knowing the Lord Jesus Christ and the Myth of Pharisaic Orthodoxy
It was Einstein who famously coined the expression, ‘Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler.’ In recent years a trend has arisen in evangelicalism as well as the liberal denominations and the seeker sensitive movement. The gospel has often become oversimplified rendering its meaning unintelligible.

Bethlehem Ephrathah: Jesus Lord at Thy Birth!
Over the past few years there has been increasing interest about our ancestry, heritage and genealogy. People are keen to discover where they were born, who they are related to and where their origins lie. Internet sites enable individuals to trace their family tree and this may strengthen their sense of identity. Television documentaries reveal the results of DNA tests to determine whether one is from Anglo-Saxon or Celtic stock.

Is it okay to question certain charismatic activities?
Often it appears that the more outlandish the behaviour of believers the more spiritual they are perceived to be! There is no need to be judgemental and it is true that God asked some of the prophets to do unusual things. Does that mean though we should blindly accept everything as the work of the Holy Spirit?

Is the gospel of the emergent church biblical? Is it different to the gospel that Paul preached in Galatians 1v8-9 warning others not to preach another one? What are some of the key figures in the emergent Church teaching about the fundamentals?

Heavy Shepherding under the guide of "MENTORING"!!!
Don't get me wrong. Mentoring is a good thing and of course relevant today if carried out in the right (Biblical) way, for the right reasons. Titus 2 v3-5 shows older women basically how to mentor younger women correctly. Furthermore neither the young pastors (meaning shepherds) Timothy or Titus were novices in their Christian walk yet Paul gave them Godly counsel inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Insignificant Bethlehem? Jesus LORD at thy birth!
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, had a seemingly young and insignificant mother, was born in a seemingly insignificant tiny town in Judah (Bethlehem Ephrathah), in an insignificant manger as there was no room in the insignificant inn for the highly significant King of Kings and Lord of Lords who voluntarily laid aside His omnipotent majesty, because He loves us, died for us and wants us to follow Him!

God looks at the Heart
(Sermon Notes on 1 Samuel 16:1-13)
Following Saul's victory over the Amalekites, Samuel is commissioned by God to anoint for Him the one He chooses. Firstly though, Samuel offered a sacrifice to God and invited and consecrated Jesse and his sons. Samuel is commanded not to consider the stature or the appearance of Eliab, Jesse's firstborn. Neither is Jesse's second son appointed or the third, fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh.
