Can we deny the resurrection and still be a Christian?
'The simple fact is that today there are many who claim to be 'Christians'' but who do not believe in the inerrancy of the Bible or submit to its authority. One third of church of England bishops do not believe in the virgin birth of Christ or His resurrection. David Jenkins, a previous bishop of Durham claimed the resurrection of Christ was "merely a conjuring trick with bones" (p334 Brian Edwards - Nothing but the Truth)

A Poem on Work and Religion
Its the time game and the endurance test, prospect of the weekend at best. The office monkeys whittle away their lives in false jest And return to their nest for a rest.

Why we need Christians with character not 'church clones'!
Many potential converts are concerned that if they become a Christian they will almost become a cloned or brainwashed believer. However we need not concern ourselves with personality tests, but our character must conform to the likeness of Jesus our Messiah.

What makes a good biblical song?
Good biblical songs are usually taken directly from Scripture or based on scriptural principles. When I was in Haifa, Israel, the Messianic congregation listed the Biblical references on the O.H.P. underneath the words of the song. This is an extremely effective way of learning Scripture too. Songs that are derived from scripture are inspired by the Holy Spirit as He is the author of scripture (see 2 Peter 1v21).

Is evangelism just an optional vocation?
James encourages us to 'be doers of the word, and not hearers only deceiving yourselves' (James 1V22) and it is also true that your lifestyle must reflect your words to be an effective witness. Furthermore our actions are part of our evangelistic efforts. However it shouldn't stop there!

What's in a name?
What's in a name? Well there's a lot more to be discovered about Biblical names of people than we initially realise! The same is true of names of Biblical places. Many names in scripture tell us about the character of that person and have prophetic significance too.

The Total Depravity of Mankind
One particularly good thing the famous evangelist (not triple jumper) Jonathan Edwards was renowned for, was for convicting the masses of the total depravity of human nature and the incredible undeserved unmerited grace that Jesus the Messiah provided when He nailed our sins to the cross. Grown men would weep and be distraught over their sinful state and be overjoyed to receive Jesus their saviour into their lives!

Be on your guard against false teachers!
'But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgement has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.' (2 Peter 2:1-3)
Notice that there will be false teachers AMONG us that will bring in heresies. We cannot turn a blind eye or sweep it under the carpet! The King James Version uses a stronger word "damnable" heresies but

Why I believe in a 1000 year millennium and why it is important!
In Revelation Chapter 20 Satan is bound for one thousand years while the saints reign with Jesus for one thousand years. Six times in verses 1-7 the 'term thousand years' is mentioned. True it is not a salvation issue but that doesn't mean it should be overlooked, so why is it such an important doctrine?

Biblical viewpoint on abortion
Something I find distastefully ironic is that we live in a society where we supposedly condemn murder and violence yet we condone abortion! The young life is jeopardised and mutilated whilst we argue over who has the right to butcher the young life!
I have seen footage of how a young foetus is aborted and I can tell you that

Are we trusting in the Stone of Israel, Alcatraz or bananas?
Alcatraz was a secure unit for inmates off the coast of San Francisco. It is currently a tourist attraction a bit like Robbin Island near Cape Town and films have been made about it and it is commonly referred to as 'THE ROCK'. I've been there with my brother and four friends and I can assure you the chances of escaping are pretty bleak. I think even our local triathletes such as Pete Rowat and Peter Robinson would have a hard time escaping as the swimming part is shark infested!

How should we read the book of Revelation?
Various schools of Theology interpret the book of Revelation in different ways. We need to ask ourselves are we being consistent in our interpretation of Revelation with respect to the rest of scripture and is there anything in the content of Revelation that advises us how to read it?

If it feels good then do it? That 's the message I hear all around me. As long as I enjoy myself and don't harm anyone else I can do what I want and what ever makes me feel good.
A friend of mine recently told me something along these lines:

Prophecy is fulfilled when the Magi meet King Herod
Chapter 9: The Magi meet King Herod the Great who inadvertently fulfils Biblical Prophecy
Matthew chapter 2 is an incredible passage of scripture. After the birth of Jesus the Messiah, Gentiles from the east came to honour Him with gifts and worship. On route they encounter Herod, an Edomite who attempted to contravene scripture for personal gain. Yahweh uses this wicked ruler to build the temple and facilitate the fulfilment of other prophecies.

How does Yahweh use leaders and nations for His purposes?
How does Yahweh use individuals, leaders and nations for His purposes even when they are opposed to His will? In numerous ways which are evident and which often repeat themselves in scripture. He stirs up, raises up adversaries, strengthens, delivers, gives them to their enemies or satisfies their requests so that they are able to see their own folly, sends a distressing spirit or a spirit of ill will, permits rumours, hardens hearts so His greater purposes are fulfilled and allows periods of exile for the backsliders permitting them a chance to repent and within that process as He draws a distinction between the excellent spirit of the righteous and the futility of the ungodly.

Do all roads lead to Rome - What about other religions/cults?
Not so long ago schools used to teach religious instruction based on the Bible. This was then replaced by religious education which includes a broader curriculum introducing the major faiths. Now we have religious, personal and social education where we are all tolerant of each others beliefs, all morals are relative and we must be careful not to upset anyone!

How does Revelation complete the canon of scripture?
How does the Book of Revelation complete the canon of scripture? Give special regard to vital areas of truth such as Man, Sin, Angels, Satan, Judgement, Salvation, Church, Worship, Heaven, Hell and Trinity.
There are various methods of interpreting the book of Revelation. These include the non-literal view, preterist view, historical view and the futurist view. I shall use the futurist view as it is the only one that permits a literal interpretation.

Why I am unapologetic about the apologetics of 1 Peter 3v15
This verse disturbs me but in a proactive and profound way! It kept me up the other night thinking about its implications as how we as born again Christians should ALWAYS be ready to give a reason to EVERYONE who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you!

The book of Acts, Paul's method of reason, Proof and Persuasion!
Jesus 'also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.' (Acts1v3)
I have heard the question and it is certainly a valid, sincere and logical question that if it could be proved that Jesus is the Son of God surely everyone would believe?

The Scribes: Which is the First Commandment of all ?
This is one of my favourite passages of Scripture where a Scribe questions Jesus concerning what is the greatest commandment of all? We may well be familiar with His answer but may not have looked closely at Matthew, Mark and Luke's accounts of WHAT IT MEANS TO LOVE GOD AND OUR NEIGHBOUR!
