Children of God

child of GodWe are a CHILD of God

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God." (Romans 8:14)

It's important we realise other Christians are also "Children of God" and treat them so (we need to see ourselves as Saints).

Isn't it strange we pick up on other peoples weaknesses, we pick up on the things we don't like about them.

Help people through words.

"You must let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but only what is beneficial for the building up of the one in need, that it may give grace to those who hear." (Ephesians 4:29)

The forces of evil hate it, when we read out the truth

Satan knows scripture and will twist it. He will say we're not those things - he Lies

We must keep affirming ourselves, resist the devil and he will flee, but come to Christ first.

"For I don't understand what I am doing. For I do not do what I want-instead, I do what I hate. But if I do what I don't want, I agree that the law is good. But now it is no longer me doing it, but sin that lives in me. For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For I want to do the good, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but I do the very evil I do not want! Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer me doing it but sin that lives in me."

So, I find the law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God in my inner being. But I see a different law in my members waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that is in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin." (Romans 7:15-25)

"for you were at one time darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light." (Ephesians 5:8)

"So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away-look, what is new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)

We Are a New Creation

The moment we accepted Christ into our lives, we became a Saint.

"Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:1)

"And the gift is not like the one who sinned. For judgement, resulting from the one transgression, led to condemnation, but the gracious gift from the many failures led to justification. For if, by the transgression of the one man, death reigned through the one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ! Consequently, just as condemnation for all people came through one transgression, so too through the one righteous act came righteousness leading to life for all people." (Romans 5:16-18)

"Who will bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies." (Romans 8:33)

"For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation." (Romans 10:10)

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practising homosexuals, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God. Some of you once lived this way. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

"We are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that no one is justified by the works of the law but by the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by the faithfulness of Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified." (Galatians 2:15-16)

"Now it is clear no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous one will live by faith." (Galatians 3:11)

"For this is God's will: that you become holy, that you keep away from sexual immorality."(1 Thessalonians 4:3)

"Now may the God of peace himself make you completely holy and may your spirit and soul and body be kept entirely blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

"But we ought to give thanks for you always, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth." (2 Thessalonians 2:13)

We must live according to who we are - we need to accept the truth - we are children of God.

We don't have to act like a Christian, or live up to what others think a Christian is.

We just need to know we are a child of God and live life accepting this. Living this way we will rely more on God.

"And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:18)

"for you were at one time darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light" (Ephesians 5:8)

We are no longer in Adam - we are now in Christ - we've moved from darkness to light.

"I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

"for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God." (Colossians 3:3)

God is intimately involved in our every day life. Including our house bills!

We should bring our worries and concerns to God in prayer.

We must learn to let go of responsibilities and let God deal with them.

If we give things to God - then leave them with Him and not try to deal withthem ourselves, or we'll burn ourselves out.

God knows where we are, He prepares us, He is patient with us in our learning and will keep teaching us the same lesson until we get it.

Satan shoots himself in the foot - by repeating himself. He will drag up the past and go round in circles. We have the spiritual authority now to deal with him. The same authority that's in Christ.

"Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you." (Romans 8:11)
